Web Design Waterford – About Bright Light Ireland

So, here we are with a brand new re-design for Bright Light, a new Web Design Blog and
twitter account – we are now fully connected to the inter-web. We’ve arranged to make an extra special effort here to keep these lines of communication as active as possible – we hope you find our discussions on Web Design, eCommerce, Graphic Design, Search Engine Optimisation and general office chat somewhat of interest. Before we go any further, here’s a little background as to how we got this far… Bright Light has been designing and developing websites in the heart of Waterford City for over 5 years now. The company was started by myself (William Hayes) a little after I quit my job working with the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) at Waterford Institute of Technology. During my time with TSSG, I worked on various commercial and EU funded research projects as a senior software engineer (Enterprise Java, C++, etc). After 5 years of writing code, the creative side of my brain was feeling a little neglected – so I decided it was time for a change – a permanent change.

With the programming skills already at hand and a healthy passion for design – the core elements were already in place to start Bright Light – Web & Graphic Design Studio right here in Waterford. Once up and running, we soon began working with some of Ireland’s best known companies including Fragrances of Ireland, HuntOffice, Waterford Today, WLR FM & Beat FM to name just a few. As word spread of our design and x-cart development services, calls soon began coming in from overseas and elsewhere in Europe, working 7 days a week became the norm just to keep up with the demand. Our expertise in Graphic Design, Web development and eCommerce were put to the test many times – and each time we excelled, continually growing our client base and project portfolio.

So, how did we keep up? Like all good businesses we have the right people working on the job. Over the past 4 years, the design team at Bright Light has expanded to 4 staff (2 programmers & 2 designers). Two years ago, we moved into our purpose built office (conveniently located here in my back garden) – the daily commute is murder!!! Since then, I’m delighted to report that things have been going from strength to strength. So far we have been very lucky to work with some amazing clients on all sorts of challenging projects. Without these great and loyal clients Bright Light would not exist today, for that I say “thank you”.
